Motorcycle club app: start your group, invite members, run your club

Clump works as a motorcycle club app as well as a group ride app. A group in Clump is a permanent home for your riding crew or club. Its rides, rules and members live on one page, and members hear about every new ride you plan.

How do you start a group in the motorcycle club app?

Every step except the name can be skipped with "Add later". Set the group up in a minute and fill in the details afterwards.

  1. In the Groups tab, tap "Create group" and choose a type: friends’ crew or club / community.
  2. Enter the group’s name and add an emblem.
  3. Pick up to 3 tags that describe your riding style and set your city.
  4. Choose who can find and join: visible in Explore or invite only; open or approval-based joining.
  5. Add group rules, such as staggered formation, full gear or no alcohol.

Invite members with a QR code or link

The "Invite" button on the group page shows a large QR code, so at a meeting point you just hold out your phone. You can also share the invite link in a message. In WhatsApp and iMessage the link previews with the group’s name, emblem and member count, for example a card reading "BMW Motorrad F-R Series GS Group · 48 members · Istanbul".

If Clump is installed on the phone that opens the link, it goes straight to the join screen. If joining needs approval, you handle requests in "Invites and requests".

Explore: find motorcycle groups near you

In Explore you can find motorcycle groups and clubs by city and interest. You can follow a group without joining it. You then see its public rides and hear about new ones, which is a good way to get to know how a club rides before you join.

Roles, rides and notifications

  • Groups have admin, moderator and member roles; with approval-based joining, admins and moderators handle requests.
  • Group rides show on members’ home screens and on the group page.
  • Group notifications have three settings: All, Rides only or Off.
  • Approval, role and membership notifications always come through.

Group rules and tags

Group rules let new riders know from the start how the group rides. Riding in staggered formation, turning up in full gear and no alcohol before the ride are the most common. The rules sit on the group page for members to see.

Tags describe the group’s riding style. You can pick up to 3, and riders looking for a motorcycle club in Explore use the tags and the city to find a group that suits them.

Group rides and join approvals

Rides planned for the group show on members’ home screens and on the group page, so members don’t miss a new ride and can join it easily with the join code.

With approval-based joining, admins and moderators approve pending requests from the member management screen, one by one or all at once with "Approve all". With open joining, anyone who uses the invite link or QR code joins the group straight away.

A group page for your motorcycle club

In a motorcycle club app, the group page is the club’s shop window. The cover image, emblem, city, tags and rules all sit on one page. If you made the group visible in Explore, riders who don’t know your club yet can find the page and follow it.

The member count and the group’s rides are on the same page. A new member can see upcoming rides and join their first one straight away.

Who is the motorcycle club app for?

A motorcycle club app should keep rides, members and rules in one place, and Clump’s group page shows all three together.

For a small crew of friends, a group is an easy way to plan rides and let everyone know. For clubs with dozens of members, having rules, roles and join approvals in one place keeps things organized.

For riders who have moved to a new city or are looking for people to ride with, Explore is a practical way to find local groups and follow their rides.

For club organizers, the biggest win is that ride announcements, member requests and rules no longer get lost in scattered chat threads. Everything lives on the riding group’s page, and new members reach it with the invite link or QR code.

Frequently asked questions

How do I invite people to my group?

Tap "Invite" on the group page to show a QR code or share the invite link. In chats the link previews with the group’s name, emblem and member count. Anyone with Clump installed goes straight to the join screen.

Can I require approval to join my group?

Yes. When you create the group, or later, choose open or approval-based joining. With approval, requests go to admins and moderators. They can approve them one by one or all at once with "Approve all".

What roles are there in a riding group?

Groups have admin, moderator and member roles. Admins and moderators approve join requests and manage members. These group roles are separate from the Captain and Sweep roles used during a ride.

How do I find motorcycle groups near me?
